Whilst we are dedicated to retaining the "historic barn" atmosphere and charm of the setting, we are also keen to continually improve and adapt the setting to take account of your comments and requirements. If you notice room for improvement - Tell US!
Our fourth season is now nearing to and end and what a sucess it has been, with bookings nearly three times those expected. 2015 is almost fully booked with enquiries flooding in for autumn and winter weddings. Our popularity has confounded us a huge difference from the 15 or so we had originally intended as suitable for our hobby venue.
Having spent Christmas and the New Year (2011 / 12) planting 3,000 trees and hedging plants in landscaping the grassland to the front of the barns many of which were planted as an ash coppice wood, we learnt shortly afterwards from the government that the Eurpean Ash disease Chalara is now in the UK and indeed surrounds our site and that most if not all of our ash will die. Well done them, pity they didn't notify us when they first knew, it would have saved us a lot of hard work and wasted money and we would now have heathy trees growing rather then having to wait and see which trees will die and which will, if any survive.
The barn now has a digital projector which can back project slide shows etc to spice up those speeches with embarassing photos of the happy couple's youth! We have also beefed up our PA system with a pair of 600 w amplifed active speakers all of which is wifi controllable via an Ipad.
Having been awarded 5*s for our kitchens (out of 5!) We immediately went out and invested in a new and improved extraction system, new resin floors, and loads of stainless steel. At the same time we have upgraded the loos, so they are even better, purchaseed a "mega" generator, and upgraded the heating systems.
We have installed new dmx lighting to both ends of the barns and the dance floor, with many led par cans, moving heads, lasers and various other ighting effects. These are all programmed from a laptop and can be controlled via an ipad.
Our Pizza oven has now been completed and had its first, very sucessful trial at a wedding. A great way to provide interesting and different evening food.
